UVic Strategic Plan

ACSA should def be a part of the future planning

Preliminary suggestions:

Less Tokenization- eg: UVIC in 50 yrs Youtube clip

Early consultation in the accommodation of international students before the event goes through

Africa Fest (country spotlight + Panel discussion)

No interest currently for country showcase

Int'l Commons- flags

Write a letter to Anne Cirillo asking for more flags.

OIA meeting

Emphasis on club mandate (should we stick to it or update it)? Club decided we should tweak it a little bit and emphasize

Brainstorm next semesters events

Event on Dec 1 for World AID's day

March 8 panel discussion de-brief

ACSA hosted a de-brief potluck at Boma's place.

Suggestions and feedback:

More advertising
Have more time for questions or ask panelists ahead of time to stay a little bit after formal event ends to entertain questions
Change the day (not Friday)
Questions were a little bit too wordy. Next time try wording questions differently
Remarks about sexist opinions from certain panelists
More focus on intra-relationships (within the black community) as opposed to inter.
Technical difficulties with powerpoint presentation. Powerpoint sometimes didn't match questions

All in all, it was a very successful event and the night was about celebrating this success.
