In this Big Thinking event, Dany Laferrière draws on the work of the Argentinean writer/scholar, Jorge Luis Borges, who has guided and inspired his work for decades. Like Borges, Laferrière defines himself as a reader who writes and shares the same passion for reading.

WorldFEST @ the Edge
Sunday, June 2nd – 11:00 am – 7:00 pm
Presented by: University of Victoria

A full day of festivities for delegates and members of the community. A sensory extravaganza with the smell of ethnic foods, popcorn and sweet treats combined with the sounds of African drummers, Latino dancers, Irish jiggers …. and much more. In addition to the entertainment on Celebration stage, food tasting booths and a ScholarSIP (Beer) tent, there will also be an International Artisan Fair with local jewellery, art, carvings, clothing etc. Come celebrate the unique cultural diversity of Greater Victoria.
